In creating its new tourbillon calibre RM 50-03 —the lightest ever of its kind— Richard Mille has reimagined the very concept of the split-seconds chronograph.

This piece furthermore premieres an all-new state of the art split-seconds mechanism developed by the engineers at Richard Mille’s R & D department in collaboration with APR&P (Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi).

The traditional 8-column wheel of the brand’s prior chronographs has been replaced by a 6-column wheel. This mechanism, which controls the various split-seconds rockers, improves the chronograph’s functions, optimising simultaneous actions and the function lock while ensuring the stability of its settings. In-depth study of the split-seconds clamp has led to improved ergonomics in the new version.
